It
is a pleasure to present this year's line up of outstanding
adjudicators, for the 5th Annual Richmond Music Festival.
These adjudicators are active performers and teachers,
with a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring to this
year’s event.
Joining us this year is, Janice Waite,
from Calgary, Alberta, for Junior Piano; Dr. Deanna Oye,
from Lethbridge, Alberta for Intermediate Piano; and Dr.
Judy Kehler Siebert, from Winnipeg, Manitoba for Senior/Open Piano.
For the Flute division, Dr. Mary Byrne,
from Victoria, B.C.; Fred Chu, a recent addition
to the local music scene, for Strings; and Patrice Jegou from
Lethbridge, Alberta, for Voice.
There are a couple of changes to be aware of this year. In the String and Flute
Division, the syllabus has undergone extensive changes, to accommodate more class
selection and provide greater clarification in piece selection. In the general
awards section, there is now a $500 scholarship available to the overall best
performer of all divisions, donated by our piano sponsor, Tom Lee Music.
Remember, to be eligible for scholarships of two hundred dollars and over, it
is required that a candidate has participated in the quick study or sight reading
class in the same division, so be sure to check award eligibility when submitting
your entries this year.
Reaching us just became easier at www.rmfs.org. From
this website, you can view the syllabus, download entry forms, learn of upcoming
events, visit the festival archives and more. It will provide useful information
throughout the year.
Looking forward to seeing you this November. Jullin O'Scheaur
