- Unless otherwise stated, all trophies and plaques are the property of the Richmond Music Festival Society and shall be returned to the Festival by the indicated due date.
- All awards will be based on adjudicator’s recommendations.
- A list of awards and criteria for each will be listed in the Syllabus and/or Programme.
- Awards will be presented in the form of trophies, plaques, medallions, and scholarships. Winners will be notified by phone.
- Competitors are ineligible to receive the same award in two consecutive years.
- To be eligible for any scholarship a competitor must be under 30 years of age and have attained a mark of at least 85%.
- Eligibility for trophies, plaques and scholarships under the amount of $200 will be based on fulfilling the specific requirement listed in each award criteria.
- To be eligible for scholarships of $200 and over, candidates must fulfill the award criteria and compete in at least two classes in the same discipline.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS
- Tom Lee Music Scholarship in the amount of a $500 gift certificate will be presented to the “Overall Best Performer of All Divisions”.
- Richmond Music Festival Gala Award Scholarship in the amount of $500 will be presented to the most outstanding performer of all divisions. The recipient of this award will be selected from the performers at the Gala Concert by the panel of adjudicators.
- Canadian Music Centre Gift Certificates (3) in the amount of $25 each will be presented for the three best performances of a work by an associate composer of the Canadian Music Centre.

PIANO SCHOLARSHIPS
- Jeanette Chan Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1204, Gr. 4 Own Choice.
- Jeanette Chan Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1210, Gr. 10 Own Choice.
- Vivian Chan Scholarship in the amount of $100 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark overall out of Classes 1066-1067, Grade 10 & Diploma Whole Sonata.
- Gloria Cristobal Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitors with the highest mark overall out of Classes 1307 - 1311, Ensemble.
- Martha Hau Scholarship in the amount of $250 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark overall out of Classes 1033 and 1035, Intermediate Concerto and Concert Group.
- Martha Hau Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1021, Diploma Classical Sonata.
- Martha Hau Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest highest mark in Class 1071, Diploma Beethoven Sonata/Variations.
- Martha Hau Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest highest mark in Class 1029, Gr. 9 Romantic.
- Martha Hau Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest highest mark in Class 1211, Diploma Own Choice.

- Michelle Jung Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1009, Gr. 9 Baroque.

- Ray Keyes Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1005, Gr. 5 Baroque.

- Prudence Leung Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1039, Gr. 9 Impressionist/Contemporary.
- Prudence Leung Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1041, Diploma Impressionist.

- Brenda E. Bengert Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark overall out of Classes 518 - 519, 538 – 539 & 568 - 569, Contemporary/Canadian.
- Margaret M. McLean Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark overall out of Classes 500 – 503 & 530-531, Junior/Intermediate Repertoire.
- Jullin O’Scheaur Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest mark overall out of Classes 512 - 515, & 536 – 537, Junior/Intermediate Folk.
- Jullin O’Scheaur Scholarship in the amount of $50 will be presented to the competitor with the highest overall mark in all divisions of Musical Theatre and Operetta Classes.
- Mr. and Mrs. M.Y. Wong Scholarship in the amount of $300 will be presented to the competitor with the highest overall mark in all divisions of Concert Group Classes.

GENERAL TROPHY

- Class 1026 Trophy for highest mark, 9 years and under, Piano Repertoire.

- Class 1048 Trophy for highest mark, Grade 8 Multiple Parts.
- Medallions will be presented annually to the competitors with the highest mark in each of the Classes 1001-1004 and Classes 1011-1014. Donated by Martha Hau.
- Most Outstanding Young Pianist Trophy will be presented annually to the competitor with the highest mark in Class 1022, 7 years and under, Piano Repertoire.
- “Most Promising Performer” in the Piano Division. Presented annually by the Richmond Music Festival.
- “Most Outstanding Pianist under 12 years of age” will be presented to the of the adjudicators’ choice.
- “Most Outstanding Talent Plaque” will be presented annually to the competitor who, in the opinion of the adjudicator, shows the most outstanding talent in the Intermediate Piano Division.

- Charles and Thelma Lyle Memorial Trophies will be presented annually to the String player and Pianist with the highest marks overall out of Classes 3090 – 3098, String Sonata Class.

need. Applicants must fulfill the bursary requirements as stated

To be eligible for a bursary, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be 22 years of age or under as of September 1st, 2007.
- Demonstrate a financial need.
- Submit the necessary documentation requested in the bursary application.
- Participate in at least two classes in the Senior or Open Piano Division.
- Attain a minimum mark of 80% in at least one class entered.
A committee comprised of two members from the community at large, and one member from the festival board will review the candidate’s application and determine the suitability of the applicant based on documentation provided. The amount of the bursary awarded will be based on documentation provided.
